Yekaterina (Katya) Toporkova is a Senior Analyst and Quality Assurance Specialist at EVIO Laboratories. She began with the company as a laboratory technician and helped establish EVIO Labs as a key player in the legal cannabis testing industry in Oregon. She currently works at EVIO’s Berkeley, California lab developing new testing methods and managing the quality system. Katya, originally from Kiev, Ukraine, graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry, and a minor in Business and Entrepreneurship, from Oregon State University (OSU) in 2016. At OSU, she held a position as a teaching assistant, served as the vice chair of the OSU Food Science Club and worked in two research laboratories funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

During her time at university, Katya also served as a cultivator and processor for the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program.

Outside of the laboratory, she is driven by her love of music and the outdoors. She loves bringing people together and will be the first one to recruit you to join her for some rock climbing, a spontaneous hike in the mountains, or a roadtrip to a Phish show.
