Dr. Opie is the managing partner of E4 Bioscience, a strategic consulting firm that exclusively supports cannabis testing laboratories.  As a previous owner/operator of both clinical and cannabis laboratories, he understands the technical, operational, and financial challenges of both start-up and established businesses.   Since 2018, E4 Bioscience has helped over 40 cannabis laboratories find success in various capacities including: business planning, site selection, laboratory design, instrumentation selection, license application, technical recruiting, operational improvement, ISO 17025 accreditation, and lab sale.   In addition to his consultative roles, Dr. Opie is the editor of the general reference textbook, “Cannabis Laboratory Fundamentals”,  an invited lecturer on the cannabis laboratory sector, a participating member on multiple AOAC International – Cannabis Analytical Science Program committees, and a PJLA ISO 17025 lead assessor.
