Richard Philbrook is an experienced plant molecular biologist. His research focuses on the genetic manipulation of plants to improve their disease resistance, improve crop yields, and thrive in harsh agricultural settings. Richard studied Plant Genetics at UC Davis, applying cutting edge molecular technologies such as CRISPR and ploidy manipulation to non-model crop species. Richard’s work at Dark Heart Nursery focuses on helping transition cannabis into an agtech crop, using molecular biological techniques to accelerate Dark Heart’s internal breeding work and to turn exciting scientific breakthroughs into products that improve outcomes for cannabis growers.
