Mark Lange was trained as a chemist with a M.Sc. degree from the University of Bonn and a PhD from the University of Munich.  Following postdoctoral studies, Mark spent four years in group leader positions at Novartis, Syngenta and Diversa.  In 2004, he joined Washington State University, where he is currently a professor at the Institute of Biological Chemistry and the director of the Murdock Metabolomics Laboratory.  Mark’s research program is focused on unraveling the biochemical pathways leading to bioactive natural products, including those accumulated in cannabis.  He is also a serial entrepreneur, representing Dewey Scientific at the Emerald Conference.
